Objectives & Activities

  • Creating a database  for theoretical and applied research to support the faculty courses and training of specialists in these fields

  • Preparation of reports / studies that will be focused on the correlation between theory-methodology and practice, respecting the research principles in geograpy

  • Development of feasibility studies of different forms of sustainable tourism in different spatial systems (national, regional, local) on demand

  • Publication of theoretical and applied works about  regional sustainable development, tourism and environment  in B + and ISI journals

  • Cooperation with other similar research centers in the country and abroad, the Ministry of Environment and Forests, National Institute for Research and Development in Environmental Protection, The Ministry for Regional Development  and Tourism, INCDT,  ANTREC

  • Summer school for master and PhD students

  • Conference on sustainable tourism in the Carpathians Mountains (once at 2 years)

  • Setting up and supporting  of the yearly publication “Journal of Environmental and  Tourism Analyses” as international referred journal, indexed  in  IDB/open sources

  • Fundraising projects with local authorities, SMEs etc.
